A Life Fighting Cancer Through a Child's Eyes

I was just a young child when I was first diagnosed with leukemia, a young girl whose fate would have brought her to the grave, but look at me now. I am standing here in front of you and although I may be far different from all of you on the outside, I am still a person on the inside. My physical scars in time will heal, but my emotional scars will remain forever.

This section shares Christine Mulvihill’s story and pieces of her epic poetic novel spanning 15 years, Life is One Tough Pill to Swallow, about the brutality of life and despair of one child's fight with cancer. Christine’s father discovered her work after her passing from a secondary brain tumor at the age of 17. He hopes sharing her words will help the world understand some of the issues facing childhood cancer survivors and inspire people to join the fight against cancer.
