Sarcoma Characteristics ID'd in TP53 Mutation Carriers

Aug 22, 2011 - Patients with a TP53 germline mutation have an increased risk of developing sarcoma, which depends on the type of mutation, with rhabdomyosarcoma more likely before 5 years of age, osteosarcoma developing in carriers at any age, and leiomyosarcoma occurring after 20 years of age, according to a study published online Aug. 11 in Cancer.
