A Videotape to Help You Prepare for Gynecological Cancer Surgery

The Preparing for Your Gynecological Surgery video provides information to patients and families about what to expect before, during and after your surgery.

The video may answer many of the questions you may have about your upcoming surgery. It also includes women who have had gynecological cancer surgery discussing their experience.

This is an important time to have your questions answered and learn ways to promote recovery.

This 20 minute videotape will cover:

• How to prepare for surgery
• What will happen during the day of surgery
• What to expect immediately after surgery
• How to care for yourself after surgery
• Ways to promote your physical recovery and sense of well-being

Along with the video tape is a series of "Helpful Facts" sheets that include more detailed information on preparing for your surgery, what to expect in the days surrounding your surgery and how to cope with some of the symptoms that may occur after your surgery.
