It addresses the emotional impact of breast cancer on the patient and on the family. It includes chapters on post-surgical treatments, Lymphedema Management, and post- surgical exercises. An appendix is included which covers issues of diagnostic tests, chemotherapy drugs, and a recommended reading list with a glossary section. With the worksheets that are included in the end of the book, the patient has an opportunity to write notes and general questions to ask throughout the treatment process. The chapters are short in length and the information is presented in a precise and understandable format.

The woman who reads this book at the time of initial diagnosis will benefit most from the information, however it is appropriate for any woman at any stage.

Healthcare professionals, Social Workers and Counselors will find this book a helpful tool when working with patients on an individual basis and or leading support groups. All readers should consult with physicians to address individual cases.
