If I worked in a factory that had asbestos, is it true that my family could be at risk too?

Yes, unfortunately, second hand asbestos exposure is a common cause of mesothelioma. The asbestos fibers can be carried home on clothes, and family members can be exposed.

Aug 15, 2012 - Chrysotile, a commercially used type of asbestos, induces malignant mesothelioma in the rat peritoneal cavity, with pathogenesis strongly linked to iron overload, according to a study published online Aug. 2 in The Journal of Pathology.
