Question

Where can I go for help with legal issues in terms of estate planning and making sure my family is taken care of when I die?

Answer

Christina Bach, Oncology Social Worker at Penn Medicine responds:

It is important to think about advance care planning early on in your cancer journey. Talk to an attorney who specializes in estate planning. If you need assistance accessing legal assistance, check out the great information available at the Cancer Legal Resource Center.

In regards to planning for your family's future, you probably have questions about life insurance. See this great resource available through OncoLink about this topic.

Its important to keep your family well informed about your decisions and plans that you have made, as well as to inform them as to where important documents (like your will or advanced directive) are located.
