Plan de Cuidado para la Sobrevivíencía
Las buenas noticias para la sobrevivíencía del cáncer son que los números están creciendo, con 10 millones de sobrevivientes estimados viviendo en los Estados Unidos hoy día. Desafortunadamente, los tratamientos del cáncer no están sin consecuencias y estos sobrevivientes están lidiando con los efectos a largo plazo de los tratamientos con poca dirección. El instituto de la Medicina (IOM, por sus siglas en ingles) investigó el estado de cuidado para los sobrevivientes del cáncer y encontró que había poca dirección disponible para los sobrevivientes y sus proveedores de cuidado medico para superar los problemas médicos y sicosociales que pueden presentarse después del tratamiento.
