Hope Confronting Cancer bronze on Belgian black marble 8.5 inches 1991
I carved "Hope Confronting Cancer" in a small piece of creamy white alabaster for a childhood friend, Rejeanne, who had lost a breast to cancer. I wanted to tell her that she was as lovely as ever, that there was hope and that we loved her even more. This piece was broken, and I then cast it in a bronze edition.
Like a lot of other people, I, too, have had cancer. I am still being monitored, even after 15 years. I am alive and refuse to believe that I will not make it.
I am 65, Rejeanne would be now 58.Imprima English
