are you anemic?
A quick and painless blood test can tell you if you are anemic

The test for anemia is done by taking a small sample of your blood and measuring your hemoglobin (heme-ah-glow-bin). Hemoglobin (reported as Hb in grams per deciliter (g/dl) of blood) is the part of the red blood cell that carries oxygen to your lungs and throughout your body.

If you are found to be anemic, your doctor will give you the best instructions and treatment for your particular situation, depending on the cause of your anemia.

Only your health care provider can order this blood test and confirm the results.

What Is Your Hemoglobin Level?

 Normal Hemoglobin Ranges
Male14 g/dl to 18 g/dl
Female12 g/dl to 16 g/dl

The average hemoglobin value for men is 16g/dL and for women is 14g/dL. However, the definition of "normal" varies from person to person.

If your hemoglobin is outside the normal range, you should contact your physician.
